Model Production of spider - Head

I have started to experiement in Maya working of the spider's head/ eye  I had three separate attempts to see what would work better.

Sample Models

I decided to choose the head on the right as it feels most successful and a slightly improved shape to what I had in the drawing. It certainly feels robotic and eye-like.

I have created sections on the side panels where the legs are going to be placed so I will now work on those to have a complete model for the drone class of spiders. I have included a front, back and side view to show how the model is working from these angles.

  • Nice, Adam. Maybe you should now think about bevelling the folds and edges in order to give it that tight and metallic feel, especially on the extruded parts at the back of the head. This will really make an impact on the spider's design.
